ABOUT THE PROJECT

Tulare County Office of Education (TCOE) is the recipient of one of the 2019 Mental Health Services Demonstration Grants funded by the United States of America Department of Education Office of Elementary and Secondary Education Office of Safe and Supportive Schools. The Rural Access to Mental Health Professionals (RAMHP) project is in partnership with the TCOE California Center on Teaching Careers (Center), TCOE Behavioral Health Services, Tulare County Health and Human Services, Mental Health Department, 21 graduate programs (MSW, LPCC, and MFT track), and 33 high needs districts (39 K-8th grade schools) supported and served by the Tulare County Office of Education.

The project has been designed to expand the capacity of our high poverty, rural school districts to train and support school based mental health providers while building a provider pipeline into Tulare County's school districts. This program is designed to recruit and train Masters of Social Work (MSW) candidates to be placed as interns in the Tulare County schools.
